Por ejemplo, la gente se muestra dispuesta a correr grandes riesgos para evitar perder dinero; pero no est\u00e1 dispuesta a asumir el mismo nivel de riesgo ante una oportunidad inesperada de ganar una fuerte cantidad. Este fen\u00f3meno, llamado <em>aversi\u00f3n a las p\u00e9rdidas<\/em>, se observa en todo tipo de actividades, desde la venta de vino hasta en el mercado inmobiliario.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfLa superstici\u00f3n puede cambiar nuestra reacci\u00f3n ante el riesgo? La respuesta, seg\u00fan las investigadoras, es un rotundo \u00abs\u00ed\u00bb. La superstici\u00f3n produce un efecto diametralmente opuesto al de la <em>aversi\u00f3n a las p\u00e9rdidas<\/em>: hace que las personas se vuelvan m\u00e1s \u00e1vidas de riesgo ante las ganancias, pero m\u00e1s aversa al riesgo cuando afrontan p\u00e9rdidas. Esto debido a que dejan de reflexionar racionalmente sobre las posibilidades; por el contrario, optan por creer que los resultados est\u00e1n predeterminados.<\/p>\n<p>Labroo explica que \u00abpodemos pensar en todo lo bueno que puede suceder y en todo lo malo que puede suceder, pero pensar en las probabilidades e intentar calcular el valor de lo que esperamos es menos natural. Exige un poco m\u00e1s de esfuerzo\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Dong y Labroo se preguntan si este efecto tambi\u00e9n se puede observar en las decisiones que entra\u00f1an consecuencias a m\u00e1s largo plazo (como el riesgo al que vamos a someter los ahorros destinados a la jubilaci\u00f3n).
